SOMNI MASK PRO APP: PRIVACY POLICY

This policy covers the Android app Somni Mask Pro (package org.somni.maskpro), published by Somni Technologies, LLC, 2810 N Church St STE 88004, Wilmington, DE 19802, USA. Contact: info@somni.org.

The app has no account and does not request the Android internet permission. We do not receive, sell or share any data from it.

The website you are reading this on is covered by a separate Privacy Policy.

WHAT THE APP STORES, AND WHERE

• Mask settings. The app sends the settings you choose to your mask over Bluetooth, and the mask stores them.
• Your cue choice and the names of sounds you added. Stored in the app's private storage on your phone.
• Sounds you add. The app copies the file you pick into its private storage and plays it only on your phone.
• Night logs. The app reads the mask's text log of a night over Bluetooth (event times, cues, head movements, sensor readings, battery) and keeps a copy on your phone. You can delete each saved log in the app.
• Time. The app sends your phone's current time to the mask.
• Firmware files. If you choose a firmware file, the app reads it and sends it to the mask over Bluetooth.

FONTS

To show text in the Montserrat font, the app asks Google Play services on your phone for it. Google Play services may download the font from Google.

BLUETOOTH AND LOCATION

The app uses Bluetooth only to find and control your Somni mask. On Android 12 and newer it asks for the Nearby devices permission and does not use Bluetooth scans to find your location. On Android 11 and older, Android requires the location permission for any Bluetooth scan, so the app asks for it on those versions only. It never reads your location.

NOTIFICATIONS

While the night watch runs, Android shows a notification with the mask's state. It stays on your phone.

SHARING

If you tap Share on a log, Android opens its share sheet, and the text goes only where you send it.

ANDROID BACKUP

If Android backup is on for your Google account, Android may copy the app's settings (your cue choice and the names of added sounds) to your Google backup and to a new phone. Sound files and night logs are not included. Google handles backups under its own privacy policy, and you can turn backup off in your phone's settings.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored on your phone. Settings in the mask stay there until you change them or restore factory values in the app.

CHILDREN

The app is not directed to children.

CHANGES

Any change to this policy appears on this page with a new date.
